Africa Day Ireland 2016

Africa Day is an annual celebration of the African's unity usually around 25th May each year, mark across the world including New York, London and Ireland. 
Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been the driving force behind Africa Day celebrations in Ireland since 2006 and its marked in major cities of Ireland, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford every year. Since 2013 Farmleigh Estate in the Phoenix Park has been home to the flagship event with over 27,000 people attended in 2015.

DUBLIN: Sunday, 29th May 2016 from 11am - 6pm

CORK: Saturday, 28th May from 1pm-6pm

The parade will consist of representatives of African countries in cultural dress, with music and including an Irish element, a marching band and traditional Ceili dancers. The event in the park following the parade, will see speeches from the Lord Mayor and invited dignitaries. There will be cultural displays and some national cuisines to be sampled after which entertainment will proceed on a stage with cultural performances of song and dance for the afternoon.
